I was not in favor of this project in the first place. But after reading the initiative, I am even more opposed. The initiative doesn’t just rezone the area. It is their plan, not very specific and incomplete. If approved by the voters, it cannot be challenged. There is no oversight unless they make a “significant” change. and who defines “significant”? The promoters continually point to their 10 guarantees; but if you read them, those guarantees have an awfully lot of “strings” attached. And contrary to their implications, Travis Air Force Base has NOT endorsed this project. These guys are slick. We must all “read the fine print” before endorsing this project.
