Laborer | 51 Years in Solano
I am opposed because the general public will pick up at least part of the cost for building the infrastructure for this project. Also, this development is urban sprawl plain and simple. Jan Sramek says building his project will protect other more valuable farmland elsewhere in the county. There is no evidence this will happen. This project might even accelerate development elsewhere in county as builders and developers will congregate in this area to network with this project. There will be issues with water as well as waste disposal and energy. Vehicle traffic will be heavily impacted on all routes. With a growing population there will be greater competition in the labor force for jobs and no guarantee that the businesses that have allied with this developer will still be around years later especially with automation and AI. Another issue is that if this project goes forward other developers will look at this and see that this can be replicated elsewhere In California especially with its pro housing State government and I would bet that the Central Valley with its low cost farmland and access to the High Speed Rail being built will be heavily targeted for housing development in coming years.
